Botanical Tours


                                     

                          2019-2020    

    1. 5th to 7th December 2019: Botanical tour – Botany department organized a botanical tour to  Vananatharam, Addatheegala, Maredumilli, East Godavari District. 65 Botany students were  attended and benefited. The students prepared Ayurvedic medicines under the guidance of     medical practitioner Mr. G. Bullayya. They collected and acquired knowledge on many     medicinal plants and their uses in medicine preparation. They visited nearby villages and     interviewed the tribal people. Faculty members Dr.B.B.R.G.Vijaya Lakshmi and Mrs.G.Rani     accompanied the students. 
    2. 4th January 2020: Field Trip – Botany department organized a field trip to III BZC Botany cluster students to Ankannagudem and observed cultural practices of varies fruit yielding gardens like Coco, Mango, Cashew, Coconut and Palm oil. They also visited organic kitchen garden and observed 3 varieties of dates, oranges, goose berry, Indian plum (regu), guava and 10 varieties of vegetables altogether 17 varieties are cultivating at Koppakagudem. Ms.B.Asha Latha accompanied the students. Students gained the knowledge about the Organic farming practices.  







                                                 2018-2019

1.     3rd July 2018: Field Trip – A field trip to II BZC students to ‘Surya Nurseries’ near Kalaparru. Mr. Subrahmanyam trained 30 students on ‘Seedling Rising’. Faculty members Dr.N.Nagavardhanam and Mrs.G.Rani accompanied the students.
2.      4th July 2018: Botanical Tour - A Botanical tour was organized for II and III BZC students to Dr.Y.S.R. Horticulture University, Venkataramannagudem. 60 students were participated and enriched themselves on various horticulture techniques.
3.      26th September 2018: Field visit - Botany Department organised a field visit to II B.Z.C students with in the college campus. Students recorded, variety of plants found in the college campus. They documented the plants common names, botanical names and families which enriched the Taxonomic knowledge of the students.
4.      5th to 12th November 2018: Botanical Tour - A Botanical tour was organized for III BZC students to Delhi, Agra, Madura and Amritsar. 46 students were participated and benefited.
5.      4th December 2018: Field Trip – Botany Department organised a field trip to III BZC cluster students to Gopala Krishna Gosala, Nachugunta, Unguturu Mandal. 18 students were participated. Faculty members Dr.N.Nagavardhanam and Mrs.B.B.R.G.Vijaya Lakshmi accompanied the students.
6.      8th December 2018: Field Trip – A field trip was organised to III BZC cluster students to Vijayarai. 19 students were participated. Faculty members Dr.N.Nagavardhanam and Mrs.G.Rani accompanied the students.
7.      8th January 2019: Field Trip – Botany department organised a field trip to III BZC cluster students to Aatapaka, Kolleru lake. 19 students were participated. Faculty members Dr.N.Nagavardhanam and Mrs.G.Rani accompanied the students.







                                          

                              2017-2018

1. Botany department organized a field trip to II BZC students to Rajahmundry, Gowtham arboretum, Satya Deva Nursery and Kadium Nurseries on 8th July 2017. 56 students attended the field trip. Dr. Balaji, Research Scientist imparted the knowledge on medicinal plants which were established and maintained in Gowtham arboretum under the guidance of forest department.
2.  Botany department organized a field trip to III BZC Botany Cluster students to Vijaya Gardens, Janampeta. Dr. G.Shiva Kumar, Manager, Mondelez India Foods Private Limited, Eluru, A.P & Mr. Vijay, Junior Research Scholar gave a detailed explanation on “Cultivation of Cocoa crop and seed processing” on 14th November 2017. Botany faculty Dr.N.Nagavardhanam, Mrs.G.Rani and Ms.B.Asha Latha accompanied the students.
3.  Botany department organized a field trip to III BZC Botany Cluster students to mango gardens at A. Gokavaram. Mr. Subba Rao, who is practicing organic farming technique in Mango, Coconut and Sugar cane cultivation enriched the students with practical Knowledge on 30th November 2017. 20 students acquired knowledge and enriched with organic farming techniques.
4.  Botany department organized a field trip to III BZC Botany Cluster students on 9th January 2018 to Gopala Krishna Gosala, Nachugunta, Vunguturu Mandal. Mr.Ratnaji and Mr.Raju acted as Resource persons. 21 students benefitted with this workshop. Botany Faculty Dr.N.Nagavardhanam and Mrs.G.Rani accompanied the students.
5.    Botany department organized a field trip to II BZC Botany project students to Gopala Krishna Gosala, Nachugunta, Vunguturu Mandal on 9th January 2018. 22 students attended and empowered with this field trip.













                                                               

                            2016-2017


1.      Botany department organized a botanical tour to Addatheegala, East Godavari district on 10th & 11th July 2016. 42 III BZC students were attended and benefited from this trip.
2.      A botanical tour was organized to II BZC students to Maaredumilli, Rampachodavaram and Addateegala for collection of herbarium from 27th to 29th August 2016. 47 II BC students participated.
3.      Faculty of Botany department organized a field visit to YSR Horticulture University, Venkataramannagudem, and West Godavari district. 40 Botany students attended this field trip.
4.      Botany department organized a botanical tour to Ooty & Coonoor for I BSC Botany students from 23rd February to 26th February 2017.  28 Botany students attended this tour. 







                                                                            

                                    2015-2016


1.      Botany department organized a botanical field trip to Rajahmundry, Gowtham arboretum and Kadiyam nurseries on 25th August 2015 to II BZC students
2.      Botany faculty organized a botanical field trip to Bapirajugudem and Kondalaraopalem to I BZC students on 10th November 2015.
3.      Dr. N.Nagavardhanam, HOD Botany organized a botanical tour to Bangalore, Mysore and Coorg from 1st February to 5th February 2016. I, II, III BZC students attended the tour.

                            2014-2015

1.      Botany department organized a Botanical tour to Visakhapatnam, Borra caves and Araku from    26th to 28th July 2014.
2.      Botany faculty members organized a botanical field trip on 20th September 2014 to Rajahmundry, Kalavacherla, Gowtham arboratum and Kadiyam nursaries to II BZC students.
3.      Botany faculty organized a field trip to Kondalaraopalem and Vijayarai on 15th November 2014 to I Students.
4.      Mrs. G. Rani accompanied I BZC students to pedavegi sericulture unit and mulberry plantation on 27th November 2014. 





                                               

                    2013-2014 


1.      Botany department organized a field trip to Pandirimamidigudem and Buttayagudem to III BZC students on 29th June 2013.
2.      An environmental field trip was organized on 29th October 2013 to Raja Rajeswari Ice factory, Satrampadu, II B.Sc, HSC and II B.Sc, MPC students.
3.      A Botany department organized a field trip to ‘Vijayarai’ Ramachandrapuram and Rayudupalem was organized to III BZC students.
4.      Botany faculty members organized a field trip to Kondalaraopalem and Bapirajugudem to II BZC students on 27th November 2013.


                                                                    

                                2012-2013

1.      Botany department organized Botanical tour for II & III students to Visakhapatnam and Araku from 17th to 20th August 2012.
2.      II BZC students along with botany faculty visited Jeelakarragudem on 20th September 2012 for the collection of herbarium.
3.      II BZC students visited Mounika hand prints, Shanthinagar on 17th November 2012
4.      III BZC students visited from May 2012 to August 2012 frequently to Denduluru, Horticulture department, Eluru, Kandrigagudem, Veerisettigudem, Tammayapalem to pursue their project works.
